How to Calculate:
(Distance / Time) * .682
First you need to measure the pitching mound, for most people this will be 60 feet, 6 inches. Next you need to figure out how quick the ball reaches the catcher’s glove from the time it leaves the pitcher’s hand. Next you will enter the numbers into our calculator or use the formula above.
Major League Distance is 60 feet, 6 inches (Used by Minor League, International Baseball, Independent Leagues, College, High School, Babe Ruth, and any level age 14 and up.

About Pitch Speed:
Pitch speed is the velocity at which a pitcher throws a pitch, you can get a close estimate to pitch speed by using the formula above if you don’t have access to a radar gun.
Say a pitcher is throwing from a major league distance and throws a pitch timed at 0.45 then the pitch was 92 MPH.
