How to Calculate:
Runs Scored2/(Runs Scored2 + Runs Allowed2) = Pythagorean Win
About Pythagorean Expectation:
Pythagorean Expectation is a calculation created by Bill James, which estimates the winning percentage of a baseball team based on how many runs they scored and how many runs they gave up.
Say a team scores 591 runs, while allowing 531, you would then do the following calculation: 5912/(5912 + 5312), which would equal a winning percentage of 0.553.
